A noteworthy name in the IPL Auction 2017 list of capped player is India’s prominent number 3 batsman in Test cricket – Cheteshwar Pujara – with a based price of 30 Lakh. Pujara has often shown his desire to play all the three formats of cricket even though he went unsold at last year’s IPL auction.

Leading Players with Base Price –

When it comes to the IPL 2017 auction base price, some of the premier cricketers like Angelo Mathews, Eoin Morgan, Pat Cummins, Benjamin Stokes, Ishant Sharma, Mitchell Johnson, Chris Woakes have Rs 2 crore as base price. While Kyle Abbott, Trent Boult, Jonny Bairstow, Jason Holder, Nathan Lyon, Brad Haddin have a base price of Rs 1.5 crore. The top players in the base price bracket of Rs 1 crore are Jason Roy, Alex Hales, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Corey Anderson, Marlon Samuels, Kagiso Rabada, Grant Elliot, Andile Phehlukwayo, Dan Christian.

  • The bidding will keep on going till all the other teams back out and the auctioneer calling the player sold.
  • A player will be considered unsold if none of the teams raise their paddle.
  • The unsold players will come back into the auction after all the players go under the hammer for the first time. The auctioneer will give the teams an option of listing the unsold players they are interested in and will start the bidding war for those players for the second time with the base price of the player slashed to half.
